The Villages of Tarrytown & Sleepy Hollow

Convenient services, excellent schools, easy commuting, beautiful scenery, and friendly neighbors are just some of the features that make the Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow area such a popular place to live or visit. Of course, we are also well known for interesting and colorful history.

Tarrytown

The Village of Tarrytown, part of the Town of Greenburgh, is a major hub of activity in central Westchester. Route 9 runs through a busy downtown area with many small specialty stores and a few chain stores.

The Metro North train station is only blocks away from the main shops, the numerous antique shops, and services. Consult the public transportation for arrival and departure times.

When you are looking for a large variety of excellent restaurants, places to stay, and historic sites, it is easy to see why Tarrytown has become a favorite tourist destination.

Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow is part of the Town of Mount Pleasant. Formerly "North Tarrytown" (it was officially renamed in December, 1996), Sleepy Hollow was immortalized in Washington Irvings famous tale.

However, Sleepy Hollow is not just ghosts and goblins -- it has its own fine stores, restaurants and historic treasures.

Kykuit, home to four generations of the Rockefeller family, is a major attraction. Another is the historic Old Dutch Church.
